In the heart of the Gobi Desert, the Mogao Caves house one of Asia’s most significant cultural treasures: the Dunhuang Library Culture. Discovered at the beginning of the 20th century, this thousand-year-old collection includes more than 50,000 manuscripts, paintings, and documents dating from the 4th to the 11th century. It stands as a testament to the cultural, spiritual, and linguistic richness of the ancient Silk Road, where Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism converged alongside Persian, Greek, and Indian influences.

Inspired by this legendary Dunhuang Library Culture, our association aims to bring a part of this cultural heritage closer to students and adults in Spain. We believe that understanding the past is the best way to build a bridge between the East and the West, specifically from our home in Campo de Gibraltar.
Project: Chinese Culture Book Donation
One of our primary goals at ACHACG is to foster knowledge of the Dunhuang Library Culture and general Chinese history among the younger generations. For this reason, we have launched a comprehensive book donation program for high schools, primary schools, and public libraries interested in enriching their collections with works on Asian history, art, language, or philosophy.
We have already made several successful donations across the region and continue to receive daily requests from committed educators. This project is not just about giving books; it is about providing tools for global understanding and mutual respect between our communities.
How to Participate in the Program
Are you a teacher or a library manager? You can request books for your educational center easily. Also, if you have books related to China that you would like to donate, we accept them with gratitude so more centers can benefit from this initiative.
